Do not shop at this store!! They are literally THIEVES!! On Sept. 6th, I made a very unwise purchase following an appointment at my oncologist's office. It was an emotional decision that I made in the moment due to my state of mind. Upon returning home (3 hours away) I realized this was a bad decision. I was in the middle of chemotherapy and unable to drive back to Toronto so I mailed the hat back to the store-never worn and in the original packaging. I included a very nice letter explaining my situation but unfortunately left off contact info. (Chemo brain?). Today, I called Karen, the store owner, because I had not received the refund of $271.20. She told be that because it was not within 30 days, she would not refund the money OR issue me a credit for the store. She acknowledged she did receive the hat on October 2, 2017. My tracking number indicated that it was delivered on September 29, 2017. BOTH DATES ARE WITHIN 30 DAYS. KAREN NOW HAS MY HAT AND MY $271.20 AND PLANS ON KEEPING BOTH She was kind enough to call me back (sarcasm) and YELL at me because I accused her of theft AND to tell me I needed to take responsibility for my purchase. I was so upset with her tone and rudeness I hung up, not wanting to subject myself to her toxic and aggressive behaviour because of my health situation. What kind of shop owner would keep a customer's money and property when I explained that it was not something I could afford and made impulsively in an upset state of mind? This is theft and I plan on following up with the next step. I am taking "responsibility" for my purchase and I understand the return policy BUT are there not times and situations that would warrant an exception with a bit of common decency and humanity? Do not expect kindness, compassion or professionalism from Karen at this store!! Update to Karen’s comment: Purchased September 6, 2017 Delivered as per tracking number September 27, 2017 (21 days including time to be shipped) Month of September weekly chemo and 4 day hospitization. As most charitable and compassionate people can imagine-the hat became a low priority. I can certainly post the letter I included to prove you are lying about me demanding a refund and I made reference to the 7 day return policy. I also said in my review that I did not include contact info which was an oversight. I used no language in the letter or on the phone. In fact I referred to the 7 day return policy and ask that you consider an exception. People always make purchases out of our own volition....I don’t see your point there! This was not one of your “hand made hats” it had a tag from another manufacturer. As a small independent business you would think that cx satisfaction would be very important to you. You certainany make a case for NOT shopping in stores like yours. What is the advanatage? This is why Amazon is so successful. They know what good business practices look like. Name calling-did not happen. I said if you keep the hat (as you stated you were going to do) and do not refund me it is theft. And I will repeat-no language was used and I needed to hang up on you because of your aggressiveness. I suspect this is because you realize you are not doing the right thing with this situation but have to much pride to back down. Also, you “wish me all the best”? A very hollow and insincere closing comment! I have cancer and told you it is for financial reasons I wish to return the hat. You are really out of touch with life and human decency. Shame on you.

Charming shop filled with exquisite hats for women and men, all made by hand on site. Low-key and friendly staff can guide your purchase, anything from a ready-made cap to a completely custom creation: I ordered a hat which was made to order in just over a week (timing depends on workload: the shop will be busier in wedding and horse-racing season). But back to my hat! The veiling we chose was not quite as graphic as I'd imagined, and so the milliner very kindly replaced it with the perfect dotted net in the time it took me to get a coffee. Lilliput has received much well-deserved press lately for the beautiful hats made for Gord Downie's final tour. But those in the know have sought out this shop and their well-made toppers for many a year. Not cheap, but worth the price: as it says on every hatbox that goes out the door, "nobody has ever regretted buying quality."
