After reading a few reviews good and not so good I want to share our experience in getting new tires for our car. After selecting the tires the day before and doing ALL the paperwork we showed up for our appointment 20 Min before .To our surprise after the sales person went over ALL the paperwork again our car was taking in right away . It was our choice to wait and knew it would take some time. The mechanic was finished and we were told by the sales person it would be a couple of minutes to do ALL the paperwork. After 20 Min we were still waiting. We know the sales people are busy but with everything computerized one feels it should not take that long to pay. Maybe an extra person on Staff would help the situation

Management really DOES NOT care about customer service. I waited at the auto parts desk for 5 mins, then a kid that worked there walked by. I asked him where to return my old battery for a refund of my deposit. He asked his colleagues and he sent me to the returns desk. When I got there the manager seemed surprised when I told him no one was there. He did not apologize or act like he cared at all he just said well there's someone there now! After getting my slip from auto parts I went to get my refund (when I purchased the battery I was told that there was a $20 "core charge", I understood that as a deposit, similar to the beer bottle deposit). Today I brought the old battery back to get my refund. They gave me $20 but after looking at my receipt I noticed that I was charged HST on the deposit. So I asked the supervisor if I could get the HST back as well. She blew me off saying that it was the government's fault and that I had to pay the HST because I didn't have the old battery at the time I purchased the new one. This makes no sense to me, why does it matter when I return the old car battery and why should I lose money because I bring the old battery a day later? My car was broken down and I couldn't bring it with me. I felt ripped off, I know it's a difference of about $3 but it's the fact that she really did not care and gave me bogus excuses. She didn't even look at the receipt, she just turned her back on me. This was really disappointing as I was starting to like Canadian Tire but this leaves a very bitter taste in my mouth.
